Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do I have to use RMIX for every event once it's installed? Not at all. RMIX is flexible and designed to complement your needs. You can choose to use our service for select events or as a backup solution when on-site engineers are unavailable. This flexibility allows you to optimize costs while still having access to professional-grade audio mixing whenever you need it.
-
Does RMIX replace the need for on-site engineers?Yes, RMIX can replace the need for on-site engineers for small to medium organizations. Our remote platform provides professional-quality live mixing, eliminating the requirement for a full-time on-site audio team. However, we do recommend having someone on-site to assist if needed—for example, to adjust a cable or address minor technical tasks. This person doesn’t require extensive audio knowledge, as our remote engineers handle the live mixing process.
-
Where can I go to sign up to be an R-Engineer?You can sign up using this link to our RMIX portal: http://portal.nuvenusa.com/user/engineer/?type=engineer For any questions or concerns, please reach out to us by filling out our contact form on our RMIX homepage.
-
How is RMIX different from remote mixing?RMIX takes mixing to the next level by offering real-time, live remote control over your mixing console during events. Unlike traditional remote mixing, which involves pre-recorded or virtualized sessions, RMIX gives our R-Engineers the ability to dynamically adjust the live mix as the event happens, ensuring an optimal sound experience for your audience.
-
Is this service available globally?Currently, RMIX is available exclusively to venues within the United States. However, we are actively working to expand our services internationally and look forward to serving venues worldwide in the near future. Note: RMIX is a service provided by Nuven, Inc., located in Brea, California.
-
Does someone need to stay physically present at the console for the entire session? Not necessarily. With RMIX, our remote engineers handle the live mixing process, minimizing the need for constant on-site supervision. However, we recommend having someone nearby during the session to assist if needed—for example, to adjust a cable or handle minor technical tasks. This person doesn’t need to stay at the console the entire time and doesn’t require extensive audio expertise.
-
Which mixers are compatible with RMIX?What makes RMIX stand out is its universal compatibility with most major digital mixer brands. Our tech team continuously works to expand this list, ensuring seamless integration with your existing equipment. Currently, the supported consoles include: Yamaha TF Series Behringer X32 Allen & Heath QU Series And more! If you'd like to see the full and latest list of compatible mixers or have questions about a specific console, our support team is happy to assist.
-
How do R-Engineers ensure the mix matches the audience’s live experience without being on-site?During the initial setup of the RMIX system, the R-Device is equipped with special microphones, speakers, and cameras tailored to your venue. These tools, combined with advanced acoustic calibration, provide our R-Engineers with a precise representation of the audience’s audio environment. Therefore, R-Engineers can accurately monitor and adjust the mix to ensure it aligns with what the audience experiences in real-time, delivering a seamless and high-quality audio experience.
-
What happens if something goes wrong during a remote session, like a cable issue or power outage? While RMIX is built for reliability, unforeseen issues can occasionally occur. That’s why we recommend having an on-site assistant to handle minor tasks, such as addressing hardware issues or restoring connections. For more complex situations, our support team is available throughout your event to provide immediate assistance and ensure everything runs smoothly.
-
Can I use my in-house engineers instead of R-Engineers?Yes, this option is available exclusively with our corporate plan. This plan enables your in-house engineers to manage multiple locations from a central hub, giving them full control while utilizing RMIX technology. Additionally, you can request as many R-Devices as your venues require to support your setup. To purchase this plan, please contact our support team!
